Benefit Societies, is a national event that unites young people and adults
in an effort to make their neighborhoods better. On this day, volunteer teams
repair playground equipment, beautify city parks, visit and help seniors, etc.

Branch W191, Lincoln, NE - Breakfast of Fraternal Champions

General Information: Branch President Julie Jordan invites members
to attend a "Breakfast of Fraternal Champions" at St. Pat's
Church in Havelock at 8:00 a.m. The goal is to help unite the older and youth
generations. After their social breakfast hour, they will plant flowers and
make improvements at both the church and in the neighborhood.
District Presidents Meeting - Beachwood, OH
Date: May 13, 2008
General Information: District Presidents will gather at the Home Office for their annual meeting with the National President, National Secretary and National Treasurer. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. Please contact Dorothy at extension 1034 if you have any questions.
Okres Anna Hurban , Cleveland, OH - Join Hands Day Event #2
Date: Saturday, May 17, 2008
General Information: Volunteers will meet at Light of Hearts Villa, 283 Union
St, Bedford, OH at 9:30 a.m. Come early to register. Projects include cleaning
out the flower beds, planting flowers, washing windows, washing the Villa bus
and vans and a bingo game with the residents. The event will be concluded at
1:00 p.m. with a prayer service and a light lunch for the volunteers. The young

Okres Marie E. Grega, Youngstown, OH – District Meeting
Date: Sunday, May 25, 2008
General Information: Branches of Youngstown's Maria E Grega
District will meet at 1:00 p.m. at the Elmtree, 170 Walton Ave, Struthers,
OH. The traditional crowning of the Blessed Mother statue will take place
followed by singing of Slovak and English Marian hymns. Hostesses are Branch
President/Secretary, Ann Dama; District Secretary, Dolores Sonoga; and members
of Branch S169. Members are to call in their reservation by May 11, to their
Branch President or to the District President, Bernie Demechko, at 330-782-8638.

Date: Sunday, June 8, 2008
General Information: Members of the participating branches are invited.
Dinner will be served at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Ann's dining room at Our Lady
of Lourdes Shrine in Euclid, Ohio. The cost is $10.00 for non-members. Reservations
are required and must be received by May 25th. All are welcome to attend
the recitation of the rosary at 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto.

Okres Anna Hurban, Cleveland, OH - The FEST
Date: Sunday, August 3, 2008
General Information: The Cleveland District is once again participating in
the family friendly day-long event from noon until 10:00 p.m. at the Center
for Pastoral Leadership, 28700 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe, OH. More than 26,000
are expected to come together for the eighth year of The FEST. A variety of
activities include: national and local Christian bands, children and teen activity
areas, games, crafts, inflatables, vendor displays, food, friends and fun.
It is a positive celebration of faith family and solid values. All members
of the district are welcome to participate again this year.
Who attends The FEST? People come from across the region. The majority in
attendance are teens, young adults, and young families. Last year, even with
a steady rain, about 22,000 people attended. For a more detailed description

Branch W008, Dodge, NE - Chicken Dinner

General Information: The officers of Branch W008 will be hosting a Chicken
Dinner at 12:00 noon at the Bank-Quit located on Main Street in Dodge. All

- A book written
by Cardinal Jozef Tomko, On Missionary Roads, presented to the Osterhout
Free Library in Wilkes-Barre.
- $13,000 awarded by the FCSLA 39th National Convention presented to Sacred
Heart/St. John’s Parish also in Wilkes-Barre.
