2006 MVP Fraternalists-In-Action
December 18, 2006 - Martha Iskra, S172 Wilkes-Barre, PA
Martha serves as long-time
treasurer of her branch and is Public Relations Director for her District #10.
She organizes social and scholarship events for both the senior and junior
members within the district. Martha is very active in parish charities for
the needy in her county. She also helps the needy in Kentucky, Indians in South
Dakota and the American Heart Association, just to name a few.
October 9, 2006 - Barbara Ceklosky, S172 Wilkes-Barre, PA
Barb carries on the
long family tradition of fraternalism, belonging to several Slovak groups and
traveling to Slovakia. She is the long-time treasurer of her branch, supervising
scholarships, Slovak holiday events and Join Hands Day. Locally, Barb helps
at nursing homes, and with soldiers.
July 10, 2006 - Mary Kebisek, S376 Milwaukee, WI
Mary serves as Branch Secretary
and also Wisconsin District #9 President. She won the 10th place prize for
the 1999 FCSLA National Convention for selling close to one-half a million
dollars in insurance that year. Mary works with underprivileged children, veterans,
volunteers in nursing homes and helps with telethons for the local public television
channel.
June 5, 2006 - Janice Boyko, S077 McKeesport, PA
Janice Volunteers her time
with local youth programs and civic charitable events. Her skill as an elementary
school teacher and reading specialist lead her to organize and raise thousands
of dollars for youth service programs. Janice was chosen for a free trip to
Washington, DC to meet and greet her legislators.
May 8, 2006 - Walter Steiner, W121 Dickinson, ND
Walter has directed his branch
in North Dakota for the last 6 years, and organizes many of the socials, including
chairing the Annual Barley Breakfast. He volunteers his expertise in carpentry
and finance for the branch. He has been a member of the former Catholic Workman
since 1987. Walter and his wife, Rita are avid fraternalists.
