The FCSLA Chicago District hosted its seventh annual combined branch Christmas Party at the Orland Chateau in Orland Park, Illinois on Saturday, December 4, 2010.\u00a0 \u00a0With a total of 345 branch members and guests in attendance, it was easy to enjoy great conversation with one another and get caught up on the years\u2019 events before and during the luncheon.\u00a0District Chaplain Sr. Antonia Klausner led the District in prayer and blessing before the meal.\u00a0 The members and their guests feasted on a variety of delicious foods including the traditional Slovak roasted pork and dumplings, fresh polish sausage with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Of course there were tasty Italian pastries for dessert \u2013 all deliciously prepared and scrumptious! \u00a0<\/p>\n
Later in the program, the attendees participated in a raffle have a chance at one of 178 available prizes.\u00a0 Winning raffle number recipients then received their prize, brought to them by some of the attending District\u2019s Junior Members.\u00a0 After the event, branch members commented, \u201cThis year\u2019s party was another HUGE success!\u00a0 Everyone is looking forward to next year\u2019s party!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
District President Joe Ledvora stated, \u201cOnce again, the Branch Officers did another outstanding job in coordinating this event, from shopping and wrapping the prizes to creating the invitations to send to their members.\u00a0 And despite the morning snowfall, our membership traveled from near and far to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with one another.\u201d<\/p>\n
