Members from the District Anna Hurban of Chicago met on Saturday, April 22, 2017, for its eleventh consecutive Join Hands Day event at the Edward Hines, Jr., VA Hospital.  Eighteen of the District members spent the afternoon with thirty-eight of the resident veterans playing forty-five very serious games of bingo where the vets had the chance to win some of the $1,135 in commissary coupons available as prizes. The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, District Anna Hurban of Chicago, hosted its thirteenth annual combined Senior Branch Christmas Party at the Orland Chateau in Orland Park, Illinois on Saturday, December 3, 2016. The FCSLA Chicago area Junior Branches and the Chicago District kicked off their holiday season by co-sponsoring their sixth annual Junior Member Christmas Party on Sunday, November 6, 2016. July, 1926, in a meeting of all Chicago and neighboring lodges at St. Simon the Apostle Slovak Parish, 52^nd and South California, members and officers of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (FCSLA) gave birth to the Anna Hurban District of Chicago. Fast forward 90 years later, and on October 8, 2016, FCSLA National Officers, current and former Anna Hurban District Officers, and members of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association gathered to commemorate this auspicious event through the celebration of a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Patrick Church, Lemont Illinois. FCSLA Junior Branches and the Chicago District co-sponsored their fifth annual Junior Member Christmas Party on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Johnson-Phelps VFW Post #5220 in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
