Senior Branch 225’s Matching Funds Event

Senior Branch 225 held its annual matching funds event for its adopted Troop in Iraq on November 8, 2011 at St. Julie Billiart’s Church Hall.

The event was held in conjunction with the Senior Young of Hearts luncheon, which honored U.S. veterans who belonged to the parish.  During the luncheon, Branch Members conducted a free will offering from the attendees. The attendees donated $618.00, which will be used to send gifts and homemade cookies to the adopted troop.

Guest speakers at this event were the pastor of St. Julie Billiart’s parish, Fr. Steven Lanza and Sr. Gael Gensler, Pastoral Associate.   Dolores Glomb, Treasurer of Senior Branch 225, coordinated this Matching Funds Event. She stated, “This matching funds event is another great success for our branch.  The generous response from our attendees at this luncheon was both touching and overwhelming.  Thank you to all in attendance who made it possible.”
