Anna Hurban Chicago District Chaplain Receives Master of Arts Degree

On Saturday, May 2, 2015, the Anna Hurban Chicago District’s Chaplain, Matus Bohacik, received his Master of Arts in Philosophy and Religion from Mundelein Seminary. In attendance, were Chicago District President, Mary Therese Tylus, and approximately 20 people from St. Simon Slovak Parish in Chicago, including Fr. Kristian Libant, CM.

Archbishop Cupich conferred the degree upon Matus.

This degree program seeks to equip graduates to engage the questions of the world, which stand in the way of evangelism. Graduates will have a strong philosophical foundation for further study of theology in the Master of Divinity program.

After the ceremony, the entire group also had a photo opportunity with the new Archbishop of Chicago, Blasé J. Cupich.
