About Us
The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association is a fraternal benefit
society founded in 1892 in Cleveland, Ohio. Under the leadership of Mrs. Anna
Hurban,
FCSLA was formed to address the insurance needs of individuals of Slovak
decent. Today, FCSLA has grown to over 450 branches in 30 states, representing
over 86,000 members and their families. Membership and its benefits are available
to men, women and children of Slav descent living in the U.S.
In June, 2007 FCSLA earned a rating of A- (Excellent) from A.M. Best, an independent insurance rating company.
FCSLA and its members are actively involved in the Church, Catholic education,
social and civic causes, and providing aid to those in need. The association
sponsors over $248,000 in annual scholarships for young members.
