Annual Scholarship Program
The
First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (FCSLA) is pleased to announce its
2010-2011 Scholarship program. More than $248,250 will be awarded to young
members of the Association. Winners are chosen by a committee of impartial
judges from the educational field based on the following criteria:
- Academic
standing - 50%
- Financial need - 20%
- Family membership - 15%
- Leadership - 10%
- Extenuating circumstances - 5%
Eligibility:An eligible candidate shall be a member of good standing
of FCSLA for at least three years prior to date of scholarship application
and hold a $1,000 legal reserve certificate, a $5,000 term certificate or have
an annuity certificate.
All applications and supporting documents must be completed and submitted
to the Home Office by March 1, 2010. Those postmarked later than March
1, 2010, will not be considered.

College Scholarships (64K

Awards (45K PDF) are $1,750 each.

* The Theresa Sajan Scholarship Fund will award two (2) additional full time
graduate students $1,750 each.

State Fraternal Congress Scholarships
Some State Fraternal Congresses offer a scholarship to graduating high school
seniors. The guidelines can be found on the website of each State Fraternal
Congress.
Other Scholarships
The Council of Higher Education provides scholarships to American and Canadian
students of Czech, Slovak and/or Ruthenian ancestry. More information about
the Council and the scholarships can be obtained at the Council's website
at www.cheonline.org.
The Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic sponsors a Government Scholarship
Program for Slovaks living abroad. Deadline to apply is May 30, 2009. For
