Chicago Regional Summit

Officers and Members of the Anna Hurban Chicago District, the Helen Kochan District of Indiana/Joliet, PWA and PUNA Districts joined together on September 22, 2018, for a Regional Summit. The Summit was coordinated by the Home Office and held at the Mayor’s Mansion Banquet Hall in Chicago, Illinois.

The day began with a presentation from National President, Cynthia Maleski, who welcomed guests from across the region. Cynthia’s remarks focused on the history of the organization, its tremendous growth over the years, and the prospects of a very successful future given our size, stability, values and leadership. Following Cynthia’s presentation, Katherine Bowes, Acting Interim National Secretary, introduced our National Sales Director, Al Heiles. Al reviewed the FCSLA product offerings and focused on our Single Premium Whole Life Policy and its particular appeal for wealth transfer. He also highlighted the tremendous value of the Super Youth Term policy for guaranteeing the insurability of our young people for an exceptional annual premium. Al introduced Jim Morsovillo, the Regional Sales Manager for the Midwest area. The morning presentations were rounded out with a presentation from Kelly Shedlock, the National Fraternal and Youth Director. Joining us by phone, Kelly discussed the coordination of matching funds for the branches and a variety of nationally sponsored contests for our junior and senior members. Kelly also gave an update on the new branch manual (recently mailed in October to branch officers) and fielded branch questions. The presenters wrapped up the meeting with a question and answer session at which time the attendees then continued their fellowship and enjoyed a delicious ethnic lunch.

All the attendees left the meeting inspired and commented on the value of holding a session like this and being able to connect with the National Leadership Team at the local level.
