FCSLA Chicago District Enjoys Annual Summer Picnic
FCSLA Chicago District members and friends joined together on Saturday, August 1, 2026, for the District’s annual picnic at Katherine Legge Memorial Park in Hinsdale, Illinois. The picnic, soon becoming a standing summer tradition, brought together members of all ages for a day of fellowship, fun, and community spirit.
Set amidst the beautiful surroundings of Katherine Legge Memorial Park, attendees enjoyed a relaxing summer day reconnecting with friends, meeting new members, and strengthening the bonds that make the FCSLA family so special. The threat of rain did not dampen the spirits of the almost 80 attendees who came out despite the weather. The picnic provided an opportunity to gather and celebrate the values of friendship, service, faith, and heritage in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
Throughout the afternoon, members shared food, conversation, and laughter while enjoying a variety of outdoor activities including bingo, a split the pot raffle and the now traditional cheese ball /shaving cream toss. This year a team trivia contest was added and enjoyed by all.
The Chicago District extends its sincere appreciation to the District officers and volunteers, whose hard work helped make the picnic a success. Their dedication ensured that attendees enjoyed a memorable day filled with fellowship and community spirit. Thank you to all the members and friends attending for their continued commitment to supporting District activities.
