Members and guests of the Anna Hurban Chicago District gathered on November 5th, 2023 for the annual Chicago District St. Nicholas party. This annual gathering kicks off the holiday season, and celebrates St. Nicholas, a very special Saint in the Slavic Christmas season.
On Saturday, August 5th, members of the Anna Hurban Chicago District and their guests gathered at Kathryn Legge Memorial Park in Hinsdale, IL for the 2nd annual “Summer in the Park” celebration. Initiated last year, this summertime family picnic gave all a chance to relax in a beautiful park surrounded by fraternal friends, food and games.
On Tuesday July 26, 2023, the Chicago District hosted both the Indiana & Wisconsin Districts for their annual combined St Anne’s Day Celebration. The feast day activities began with a warm welcome by Chicago District President Lorraine Gibas who greeted all in attendance including Indiana’s President Lillian Zaborske and Wisconsin President Pat Braun.
Anna Hurban Chicago District members met on June 19, 2023, at Camelot Banquets in Hickory Hills, IL, to celebrate the District’s 2023-2024 scholarship winners. Scholarship winners and their families were invited by their Branches to join together for a luncheon and program recognizing the student’s scholastic accomplishments.
Throughout the months of May and June, the Anna Hurban Chicago District conducted a matching funds event to raise funds for the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno Illinois. The home in Manteno has the capability to house over 300 veterans, and provides daily care and skilled nursing services to resident veterans and their immediate families. Additionally, the grounds in Manteno are also home to the Prince House, a residence for 12 previously homeless veterans working to build community and skills to gain independent living.
On December 3rd, 2023, members of the Chicago District Senior Branches and their guests celebrated the return of the annual Senior Branches Christmas Luncheon. Members and guests met at Camelot Banquets in Hickory Hills for a festive afternoon filled with great food, great fellowship and great fun. Read more
On November 6th, 2023, Chicago District members joined together to enjoy the afternoon and welcome St. Nicholas at their annual St. Nicholas Family Party. This annual event, which was postponed for two years due to the pandemic, was held at the Worth Park District gymnasium, in Worth, Illinois. Read more
On Saturday, September 24, 2022, Chicago District branch officers and members attended a sales presentation given by FCSLA Life’s National Sales Manager, Paul Smithers, CLU ChFC, and Midwest Regional Sales Manager, Jim Morsovillo, CSA FICF, on product updates and sales approaches. Read more
On Saturday August 6th, 2022, the FCSLA Chicago District hosted its first summer picnic in the park! Branch officers, members, and their families and friends gathered to enjoy a warm day filled with food, fun, and fraternal fellowship at Katherine Legge Memorial Park in Hinsdale, IL. Read more
Following a two-year break due to the pandemic, the FCSLA Chicago District held its annual scholarship luncheon at Camelot Banquets in Hickory Hills, IL, on June 18th, 2022.
