Once again, the Chicago District invited members to celebrate the holidays together virtually by sharing their favorite holiday memory or photos through Facebook. Due to the pandemic, in person events were again canceled, and this new method of sharing allowed members to continue to celebrate together with their fraternal family. Read more

Chicago District Help a Vet Matching Funds

The Anna Hurban Chicago District invited its branches and members to “Help a Veteran” through a virtual matching funds event held in March and April. The virtual event was centered around helping veterans at the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, IL and at the Veterans Administration’s Program for homeless veterans at the VA in Hines, IL. Chicago District Holds Virtual Lenten Day of Recollection

On March 21st, the Anna Hurban Chicago District held a Virtual Day of Recollection. This annual district event is typically held face to face during Lent, and includes inspirational talks, reflection, and prayer, ending with celebration of Mass. Due to the pandemic, this event was cancelled in 2020, and when faced with the idea of going another year without this special event, the Chicago District members found a creative approach to continuing the Lenten tradition virtually.
